I had watermelon colors on my mind, and I thought of the popular smart phone game Fruit Ninja, where you slice fruit for points with your finger, ninja style. It's a good paper-pieced pattern for beginners, as it's fairly forgiving. The secondary pattern of diamond shapes would be interesting in a print fabric or a colorful solid, too.
I have eight of these 12" (finished) star blocks done. How big do you think I should make this quilt?
In addition to Fruit Ninja, I'll have not one but two quilt patterns to post in the next few weeks. I'm currently binding one of them, and the other one is almost done as well. It's been a busy spring thus far!
