Finally! I get to share this table runner, inspired by the thought of a deconstructed candy cane. I used my red and white stash and the Dresden Plate die. For all the how-to details, please visit the Sizzix blog here.
Using traditional shapes in unexpected ways is fun and often a good challenge. The last Dresden project I did was a mini, and I started these two projects at roughly the same time.
It was a good excuse to use the Lecien Snowflake print, which is one of my all-time favorite red on white fabrics.
I didn't put one of my Leigh Laurel tags on this table runner as I wanted it to be fully reversible.
The back is a Christmassy print — Ambrosia Joy Wreath by FreeSpirit — that I almost didn't buy at Marden's. Fortunately the woman who runs the fabric department is a good salesperson!
I might have to leave this out on our dining room table until Valentine's Day. . . It's bound in a natural-colored quilter's linen. Finished size is 19 x 41".
My neighbors probably think I'm crazy, outside in 14 degree weather hanging a table runner on the side of the house. It's possible they're right. :)
