I wanted to make a baby quilt that wasn't too girly, so I pulled Sunprint Mercury in coral, Robert Kaufman Chambray in black, and ash and limestone Cirrus Solids by Cloud 9. To soften it a little bit I added Abalone in Quilting Cotton by A Creative Mint and Beaded in Sunset by Hawthorne Threads from their Coyote line.
It was fun mixing up the Drunkard's path blocks with solid squares, and the Cirrus Solids are so soft.
The polar bears for the backing fabric are from my Fair Isle quilt; there was just enough left over.
This little bear peeks out from the binding, which is Kona cotton solid in Lipstick.
The quilt finishes at 40" square. For the full tutorial please visit the Sizzix blog. Sizzix also has a new Instagram account just for quilting - if you're on Instagram, be sure to hop on over to check it out and say hi!
